who are the supernovas of 2024?

We are proud to announce the winners of this year's Supernova edition. Of the four ensembles, the jury selected Aglica Trio and Susato Trio as the two Supernovas. Trio Susato also conquered the hearts of the audience and thus received the audience award.
Congratulations to all the finalists - Aglica Trio, Fiona & Chiara Alaimo, Phasma Trio and Susato Trio - with their dazzling performances. And thanks to the enthusiastic audience and DE SINGEL for the warm welcome.
This victory comes with a tour of concerts in a number of Belgian venues and media attention from Klara and Musiq3. Both ensembles will kick off this tour during Klarafestival, with a laureates' concert in Bozar on 10 March 2024.

Yesterday, eight ensembles showed their best at the semi-finals in CC Strombeek. From these semi-finalists, a jury of experts and programmers chose Susato Trio, Phasma Trio, Aglica Trio and Fiona & Chiara Alaimo. Congratulations to all candidates!
On 21 January 2024, you can admire and encourage this young talent during the free final at DE SINGEL. But there is more: you can help decide which two ensembles will be awarded this year's Supernova title and who will go home with the audience award. So gather your friends, family and other sympathisers and make sure to reserve your seat.

The semi-finalists for Supernova 2024 have been announced! On Thursday, 14 December 2023, Aglica Trio, Duo Altiler, Duo Strijbos-Craens, Fiona & Chiara Alaimo, Lotus, Phasma Trio, Susato Trio and Two Systems will compete for a place in the final.
Make a note of the final on 21 January 2024 in your diary, and come and discover this youthful ensembles live at DE SINGEL.

For the tenth time, eleven Belgian organisations active in the world of classical music go in search of young, promising chamber music ensembles – the 2024 Supernovas!
SUPERNOVA is an incentive prize that gives young artists recognition and the opportunities to perform: a calling card at the start of a promising career. The two celebrated Supernovas win a Belgian concert tour and also receive media attention from both Klara and Musiq’3, and one of the finalists will have a chance to win the "audience award" and a CD recording.

De winnaars van Supernova zijn bekend! De jury bekroonde Koi Collective en Trio Malatya tot de twee winnaars van deze editie. Trio Malatya viel tweemaal in de prijzen, want zij gingen ook met de publieksprijs aan de haal. Van harte proficiat aan alle finalisten met hun spetterende optredens en dank aan het enthousiaste publiek en DE SINGEL voor de hartelijke ontvangst!
De Supernova's van 2023 krijgen behalve media-aandacht van Klara en Musiq 3 ook een tournee met concerten in een aantal Belgische cultuurcentra aangeboden. De aftrap daarvan geven beide ensembles tijdens Klarafestival, met een laureatenconcert in Bozar op 12 maart 2023.

The semi-finalists for supernova 2023 have been announced! On Monday, 5 December 2022, Extended Music Collective, Nereus Quartet, Trio Malatya, Koi Collective, quintet Etcaetera, Núna Ensemble, the song duo consisting of Fleur Strijbos and Babette Craens and Iguazú Quintet will compete for a place in the final.

The winners of Supernova are known! The jury crowned Goggles and Firgun Ensemble as the two winners of this edition. Ryelandt Trio won the audience award. Congratulations to all the finalists with their dazzling performances and thanks to the enthusiastic audience and DE SINGEL for the warm welcome!

The four finalists of Supernova are known! From the eight semi-finalists, a jury of experts and programmers chose Firgun Ensemble, Goggles, Ryelandt Trio and Woodwork Reed Quintet. Discover these young and enthusiastic musicians on 30 January 2022 in DE SINGEL and help decide which two ensembles will be crowned as winners of this edition, and who will be considered for the public prize.
Thanks to all participants for their inspiring performances, to the jury members for their votes, and to CC Ter Dilft in particular for the warm welcome and covid-proof organisation of the semi-finale.
On March 13, the Supernovas of 2022 will be honoured with a laureates' concert during Klarafestival.
no new supernova competition in 2020/2021

For the upcoming season, the Supernova partners and artists will have the time to let cancelled concerts (due to the COVID-19 crisis) take place. We want to give the winners of 2018/19 (Duo Vermeulen Verpoest / Urban Piano Quartet) and 2019/20 (Trio Aries / Desguin Kwartet) the chance to complete their concert tour.
Registration for the next Supernova competition (edition 2021/22) will open in June 2021.

SUPERNOVA 2020: SCHRIJF JE NU IN!

Voor het zevende jaar op rij gaan een tiental Belgische organisaties uit de wereld van de klassieke muziek op zoek naar jonge, veelbelovende kamermuziekensembles: de Supernova’s van 2020!
Ensembles kunnen zich op de website van SUPERNOVA inschrijven tot en met donderdag 31 oktober 2019. Op basis van de ingezonden geluids- en/of videofragmenten worden acht kamermuziekensembles geselecteerd voor de halve finale die op 9 december 2019 plaatsvindt in de Toots-studio van de VRT. Vier kamermuziekensembles zullen doorstoten naar de finale op 2 februari 2020. Op de finale worden uit de vier finalisten de twee Supernova’s geselecteerd en wordt er daarnaast ook een publieksprijs van €1000,00 uitgereikt.
