[last tickets] London Symphony Orchestra & Barbara Hannigan
messiaen - mahler
Festival artist Barbara Hannigan is unique in the classical music world. Not only does she have a phenomenal voice, she is also an outstanding conductor. In Klarafestival’s opening concert, she will lead the London Symphony Orchestra. Following Messiaen’s mystical L’Ascension, they'll perform Mahler’s Fourth Symphony that ends with a heavenly solo for soprano, interpreted by Hannigan's protégé Aphrodite Patoulidou.
Due to the residual health impact of a serious virus of the eye, Barbara Hannigan will not sing the solo soprano part in the last movement of Mahlers 4th Symphony. In a change to the planned programme, the solo soprano part will be sung by Aphrodite Patoulidou.
