Lennart Heyndels Quartet

The Belgian bassist, keyboard player and composer Lennart Heyndels frequently performs with groups such as the Ben Sluijs Quartet and Hi Hawaii on a broad musical playing field, from jazz to pop. Here with his own Lennart Heyndels Quartet, he explores the complex rhythms and musical experimentation of the late-medieval Ars Subtilior. The quartet deconstructs these 14th century songs for the listener and then, employing jazz tones and improvisation, reconstructs them in the moment.
