Brad Mehldau & Ian Bostridge
the folly of desire
The legendary jazz pianist Brad Mehldau is coming to Klarafestival for a veritable three-day extravaganza. For the first concert, he shares the stage with Ian Bostridge, the celebrated lieder performer. Especially for him, Mehldau composed a new song cycle: The Folly of Desire, which seeks out the dark, violent side of longing. Together with Schumann’s multi-layered Dichterliebe the duo introduces a critical note into the unbridled human passion.
