Local residents present an interesting composition at Het Huis van Culturen en Sociale Samenhang Sint-Jans-Molenbeek [House of Cultures and Social Cohesion]. Guy Danel and the Dónisi quartet from the nearby Chamber Music for Europe are working with young people, under the supervision of Samir Bendimered in the Molenberlin studio. These young people are taking their first steps in spoken word - with slam, rap, singing etc. - to create an exciting contemporary cross-pollination.

“A good neighbour is better than a distant friend.” With this in mind, Klarafestival and BOZAR aim to reconnect with the people of Brussels and their habitat. One step in that direction is MUSIKAA: a collaboration with the Municipality of Molenbeek and some of the many cultural partners in the area.
This year, five organisations in Molenbeek invited local talent to take part in five artistic projects. We present these projects in five video portraits and five portrait photos, which will be used to brighten the streets of Molenbeek from March 21. Visitors can plan their own routes using these photos as a guide. Moreover, if they scan the QR codes they can instantly discover the video portraits.
