Remork & Karkaba

Remork & Karkaba will celebrate this lively place.* Karkaba is a group of musicians, largely from Molenbeek with Moroccan roots, who play traditional Moroccan music (Gnawa, dance and music) which they also like to combine with other genres. They perform with a group of wind instrument players as Remork & Karkaba.

*Due to the current health and safety measures, this video was filmed on the Manchesterstraat, on the industrial site where De Vaartkapoen and Recyclart are situated.

about musikaa

“A good neighbour is better than a distant friend.” With this in mind, Klarafestival and BOZAR aim to reconnect with the people of Brussels and their habitat. One step in that direction is MUSIKAA: a collaboration with the Municipality of Molenbeek and some of the many cultural partners in the area.

This year, five organisations in Molenbeek invited local talent to take part in five artistic projects. We present these projects in five video portraits and five portrait photos, which will be used to brighten the streets of Molenbeek from March 21. Visitors can plan their own routes using these photos as a guide. Moreover, if they scan the QR codes they can instantly discover the video portraits.
