Voor de rusthuisbewoners zit een cultureel uitstapje er al een hele tijd niet meer in, zelfs niet na hun
vaccinatie. Om dat gemis op te vullen, sloegen de Brusselse welzijnsinstelling Iriscare en het Klarafestival de
handen in elkaar. Twee concerten van het festival werden opgenomen in de tuin van Brusselse rusthuizen en
zullen tijdens het festival online te zien zijn.

Op het Klarafestival speelde Het Collectief Das Lied van der Erde. Oorspronkelijk van Mahler maar hier in de bewerking van Reinbert de Leeuw. Het Collectief nam het stuk nog vlak voor de Leeuws dood samen met hem op. En nu dus live op het Klarafestival, met een nieuwe dirigent: Gregor Mayrhofer.

L'autre particularité de cette année est la collaboration avec Iriscare. Deux concerts ont été enregistrés dans le
jardin de maisons de repos et maisons de repos et de soins bruxelloises.
Bert Colijs du Klarafestival précise "Les maisons de repos ont connu des moments difficiles au cours de l’année
écoulée. Le Klarafestival souhaite apporter son soutien aux résidents des maisons de repos en leur offrant à eux
aussi un message d’espoir et de réconfort."

''Naar eigen zeggen schreef Richard Strauss muziek zoals een koe melk produceert. Hij zette zijn eerste noten op papier toen hij zes was. En toen hij amper 17 was, schreef hij de Serenade voor 13 blazers. Meteen ook de afsluiter van Klarafestival 2021. En daar is Benjamin Dieltjens, eerste klarinettist van Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, heel blij mee: "Er is helemaal niks puberaals te horen aan het stuk, een prachtig en bijzonder stuk van Strauss."

"Songs of Nature’, een productie van Muziektheater Transparant, is een absolute aanrader, konden we tijdens een preview vaststellen. Sopraan Ilse Eerens werkt zich begeesterend en met vol overgave door de liederencyclus ‘Neun Deutsche Arien’ van de Duitse componist Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759). De liederen worden aangevuld met vier nieuwe instrumentale composities van Wim Henderickx."
