KlaraFestival celebrates 25 years of Concerto Köln

During KlaraFestival 2010 Concerto Köln is celebrating its 25th year of existence with two concerts playing music from Mozart (with Simone Kermes) to also Mahler (Rückert Lieder with Werner Güra). With this exclusive double date KlaraFestival is presenting a surprising portrait of this German orchestra. Highly esteemed throughout the world by both audiences and critics alike, Concerto Köln nowadays receives an almost constant stream of recording awards. The Echo Classic Award 2009 was followed, on the 26th of January, 2010, by one of the highest distinctions possible: the MIDEM Classical Award, for its recording of the symphonies by the almost forgotten composer, Henri-Joseph Rigel (1741-1799).
