European Gala Concert 25 September at BOZAR

Next Gala concert with Göteborg Symphony Orchestra and contralto Anna Larson conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

When it comes to Dudamel and Anne Larsson, we don’t know who to tell you about first. First there was her unforgettable performance in the Gürre-Lieder during 2007 KlaraFestival. But there was also the devastating news of Dudamel's rejection for the conductor’s post at one of Belgium’s biggest orchestras… Our country could have played host to one of the most promising and energetic stars in the orchestral firmament. At the age of just 28, the protégé of Barenboïm, Rattle and Abbado has not forgotten his Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, composed of underprivileged Venezuelan children. On September 25th, we shall be hastening to hear his rendition of Mahler's most beautiful swansong, Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen.
