John Cage 100
A luncheon with John Cage
September 5, 2012, will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth in Los Angeles of composer and enfant terrible John Cage. Cage was to become one of the greatest innovators of classical music in the 20th century. He never shied away from an artistic statement that ruffled the feathers of the art world: “I can’t understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I’m frightened of the old ones!” And for that reason alone, John Cage has been given an important place in the series of KlaraFestival lunch concerts.
Luncheons with John Cage and others in De Munt, every weekday at 12:30 pm.
With BL!NDMAN [drums], Arne Deforce, Daan Vandewalle, Christian Poltéra, Guido de Neve, Pianoduo Mephisto and various instrumental ensembles from De Munt.
