Berlioz was the first of his contemporaries to start making waves - high time for Romanticism! This is exactly why this programme will
open with Berlioz’ Nuits d’Eté, moving on to works by Godard, Widor, Fauré and Saint-Saëns to complete a
sketch of French Romanticism. The programme will close with Prélude à L’Après d’un Faune, Debussy’s contribution to the ushering-in of a new musical era. This aptly-chosen overview will be performed by Alexis
Kossenko, Rémy Cardinale and baritone Alain Buet.
