With dissonant chords, romantic love songs and capricious melodies, this trio will immerse you in what could be called the French counterpart to Mahlers German Romanticism. Berlioz was the first of his contemporaries to start making waves - high time for Romanticism! This is exactly why this programme will
open with Berlioz’ Nuits d’Eté, moving on to works by Godard, Widor, Fauré and Saint-Saëns to complete a
sketch of French Romanticism. The programme will close with Prélude à L’Après d’un Faune, Debussy’s contribution to the ushering-in of a new musical era. This aptly-chosen overview will be performed by Alexis
Kossenko, Rémy Cardinale and baritone Alain Buet.
