BENOIT LAURENT
Benoit Laurent studied recorder, modern oboe and baroque oboe in Belgium (with F. de Roos, P. Dombrecht, Ann Vanlancker and S. Cremers), then he studied the baroque oboe in Germany with M. Niesemann. In 2008 he got a second prize at the prestigious competition Musica Antiqua in Bruges, in the category soloist. He is appointed Professor for baroque oboe at the Hochschule für Musik Frankfurt, and teaches also this instrument at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
Benoît gives concerts in orchestra and chamber music with some of the best ensemble on period instrument (Concerto Köln, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Orchestre des Champs Elysées, Collegium Vocale, B'rock, Il Gardellino, les Agremens,...). He also played concerto as a soloist with many ensemble (Concerto Köln, Akademie für alte Musik Berlin, les Agremens, les Muffatti, la Stagione Frankfurt,...).
Benoit Laurent recorded two Sammartini concerti for oboe with les Muffatti for the label Ramée (out mai 2011), Lebrun’s C-maj Oboe Concerto with les Agremens (out january 2011) and with his own ensemble Lingua Franca an german oboe band music cd for the label Ricercar (out december 2010).
